About the car:
The Holden Torana was a mid-sized car manufactured by Holden from 1967 to 1980, The name comes from an Aboriginal word meaning “to fly”. The first Torana was released in 1967 and was a four-cylinder compact vehicle with origins in the British Vauxhall Vivas of the mid 1960s. Changing tack in Australian motorsport, Holden released the GTR XU-1 in the previous LC series Torana, with performance-enhanced drivetrain and handling. From then until the advent of the larger Holden Commodore the Torana remained Holden’s most successful sports/perfoamcne vehicle, garnering many victories in rallying and circuit racing.
In February 1972 the facelifted LJ Torana was introduced with the six-cylinder models now visually associated with the larger HQ series. Many mechanical components were shared with the earlier LC model, with the major changes limited ot the choice of engines. The 3300 (202 ci) engine was now adopted for the GTR, with the XU-1 also receiving a close-ratio gearbox.
Classic Carlectables have produced this stunning model in diecast with opening parts. Not to be missed by any Holden collector.
